Training Overview
This 2-day training program is designed to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct Internal Audits for an Integrated Management System (IMS) based on:
- ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System)
- ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System)
Participants will learn how to plan, conduct, report, and follow up on audits in accordance with ISO 19011:2018 (Guidelines for Auditing Management Systems).
Objective
This course aims to provide delegates with the following knowledge:
- Understanding of internal audit concepts
- Knowledge to use audit methods
- Ability to evaluate audit results and to decide on appropriate action (conformity or non conformity) to be taken
Duration
This is a 16-hour course run over for 2 days (9am to 5pm)
Course Content
Day 1
- Overview of Integrated Management System (IMS)
- Purpose and benefits of IMS
- Understanding the structure of ISO standards (Annex SL framework)
Session 1: Introduction to IMS & Standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
- Key requirements of each standard [Clause 4 to Clause 6]
- Key requirements of each standard [Clause 7 to Clause 8]
- Key requirements of each standard [Clause 9 to Clause 10]
Auditing Aspect Impact and HIRARC
Day 2
Session 2: Introduction to IMS Internal Audits
- Definition, purpose, and importance of internal audits
- Types of audits (1st, 2nd, and 3rd party)
- The role and responsibilities of an internal auditor
- The audit process: PDCA approach
Session 3: Audit Planning
- Understanding audit scope, criteria, and objectives
- Preparing an audit checklist based on IMS requirements
- Gathering audit evidence
Session 4: Audit Execution
- Opening meeting and communication skills
- Conducting interviews and site observations
- Objective evidence collection (documents, records, observations)
Session 5: Audit Reporting
- Workshop : Writing non-conformity reports (examples from 14001, 45001)
